Stone Energy’s 4Q16 Revenue
Stone Energy (SGY), the oil and gas corporation based in Lafayette, Louisiana and established in 1993, announced revenues of roughly $113 million for the fourth quarter of 2016. This is about 2% better than revenues predicted by Wall Street analysts. Fourth quarter revenues also represent about a 20% increase over 3Q16 and a roughly 2% increase year-over-year with 4Q15.
The majority of fourth quarter revenues, about 68%, come directly from crude oil sales. Natural gas and natural gas liquid represent 19% and 13% of revenues respectively.
Increased production of natural gas and crude oil account for these revenue increases even though realized prices for these are about 29% lower year-over-year 4Q15 to 4Q16. Realized prices for crude oil during the fourth quarter of 2016 averaged $49.39 per barrel compared with $69.68 per barrel in 4Q15.
Overall, fiscal year 2016 reported revenues of about $377 million. This represents a roughly 31% decrease over fiscal year 2015 which saw revenues hit $545 million. However, 4Q16 represents the highest quarterly revenues for the fiscal year.
